Terror-riffic Texas Bush! Pun Gent Pat has captured the hearts and minds of the Lone Star State! Everyone knows the Gents love cannibals (they are, of course, men after our own hearts) - read Pat's speech to see how that love paid off. With his zingers flying like canniballistic missiles, he returned from the O. Henry Pun-Off in Austin with a bronze medal! (check out the pictures here, complete with descriptions) Pat and the second place contestant scored 38 out of 40 possible points, (the first-place winner, Francis McGrath, scored a rare 40 out of 40). Second-place was determined by audience applause; as charming as he was, Pat the Canadian was unable to oust Jim Hahn from Waco for silver.
As Pat reports it was an extremely worthwhile event with hundreds of avid spectators, so next year both Gents hope to be there to pun-ish the competition! Inspired by the spirit of O. Henry, we shall redouble our efforts to organize the first annual Ron Maclean All-Can-eh-dian Pun-off for current and aspiring Canadian punsters. Stay tuned!

This morning Pat taped an interview with CHIN Radio, on the "Pearl of the Orient" show, hosted by "Reckless" Joel Recla. The interview will be broadcast on Saturday May 21, at 6:30pm EST. You can catch the streaming audio feed at www.chinradio.com or on 100.7FM or 1540AM in the Toronto area.
In just over 24 hours, Pat will leave for sunny Austin, Texas to compete in the O. Henry Pun-Off. Due to unfortunate scheduling conflicts, Rhain will not be able to travel to Austin, but we have worked together on preparing the puns for the competition and we are confident that Pat will do well!
To our hardcore fans (you both know who you are): if you have not yet done so, please donate to help offset the cost of sending Pat to represent Canada at the Pun-Off. It is a pricey endeavour and any fiduciary assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Spread the gnus! Embrace the mountains and kiss the earth - because on Ground-hug day, February 2, The Pun Gents will be spotlighted in Montreal's hottest product, Maisonneuve Magazine. Poet/pun-dit John Lofranco's 'Masochist' hockey column will be featuring sizzling and original Pun Gent humour!

Brand gnu Puns on Demand! We have changed the publishing format to allow comments, so you can now let us know how our POD efforts stack up. We have also changed the default homepage back to this gnus page, so we can easily notify you of any gnu additions to the site. New features coming soon, so like Bugs Bunny says, stay tooned!

Having enjoyed a punderful first month of operation, we've made some small changes to make your Pun Gent visit more pleasurable. You will notice the streamlining of the entry page so that Pun of the Day loads by default: every day you'll get the latest Pun Gent co-laff-oration without having to navigate. Additional changes include a new discrete links page; a monthly archive for the Puns on Demand and Pun of the Day sections, and a general polish and tightening of the layout. We hope you find these improvements helpful; we'll continue to upgrade the site and its features on a regular basis... So just like the ecstatic chicken, we hope you hen-joy!
